EastEnders' Lacey Turner shares game-changing theory about who dies at Christmas

EASTENDERS star Lacey Turner revealed who she thinks the murder victim is the BBC soap's flash-forward episode.

Viewers were sent into a frenzy with last night's grisly flashforward twist which it ended in death for one character - but who?

The explosive episode centred around the lives of six of Walford’s much loved matriarchs.

Linda Carter (Kellie Bright), Suki Panesar (Balvinder Sopal), Stacey Slater (Lacey Turner), Denise Fox (Diane Parish), Sharon Watts (Letitia Dean) and Kathy Beale's (Gillian Taylforth) lives are set to change forever as a huge new storyline kicks off tonight.

After an eventful evening, the ladies of Walford settled into a lock in where they bond over their shared experiences, and moan about the men in their lives.

The flash-forward scene gives viewers a sneak peak into Christmas 2023.

The women are back in The Queen Vic, but this time things are less jovial.

Each of the women look horrified as they look down at the floor.

Sharon is in a wedding dress with blood stains and Denise holds a broken champagne bottle.

Stacey's hands are also soaked in blood and Suki looks on in horror.

Sharon hovered over the body and bent down to check the pulse of the mystery figure - who was dressed in a suit wearing cufflinks.

She then shockingly revealed to the other women: "He's dead."

Producer Chris Clenshaw revealed: "The episode will act as a catalyst for major storylines involving each of the characters that will play out over the year."

He added: "We developed the idea and thought it would be even more exciting if we didn’t reveal who the victim is – becoming so much more than a “whodunnit”… It’s a “who-is-it” as well."

Talking about her involvement in the new storyline, Stacey Slater actress Lacey Turner said: "The six of us went up for a meeting with Chris and he told us all about this idea he had about using a flash forward scene, and I think it’s really exciting to do something we’ve never done before.

"When we first had the meeting about the storyline, I immediately thought it was someone who wasn’t in Albert Square yet.

"In terms of who meets their fate, I have a certain person in mind at the moment, but I think my guess is too obvious and I’m probably wrong.

"The more that time goes on, and the more the six of us have chatted away, I feel like it’s an accidental death.

"I don’t think it has been done on purpose, and I think that it’s more of a group effort rather than one sole person, and if it is one individual, then I think all of the women are covering for them.

"I think we all might know something we shouldn’t know and we’re all covering for each other."

Viewers will have to wait till Christmas Day 2023 to find out the identity of the murder victim.
