New Cross station shut as person dies after being hit by a train during London rush hour
A PERSON has died after being hit by a train at London's New Cross station during this morning's rush hour.
Southeastern announced emergency crews were dealing with an "incident" between London Bridge and Hither Green at around 8am.

Shortly after New Cross station was closed.
The tragedy caused major disruptions on the Hayes, Bexleyheath, Sidcup, Woolwich, Grove Park and Hastings lines.
Tickets are being accepted on the London Underground via reasonable routes and on some buses between Dartford and Lewisham.
A spokesman from British Transport Police confirmed: "We were called to New Cross station at 7.55 to reports a person had been struck by a train.

"Paramedics also attended but the person was pronounced dead at the scene.
"The circumstances are not thought to be suspicious at this time."
He added that officers are still trying to trace the person's family.
London Overground said there was no service between Surrey Quays and New Cross, adding that passengers should instead walk to New Cross Gate station.
